A provisional statement…
Provisional construction could represent a method of building, a form of ‘architecture’ or a kind of intervention which serves to highlight a specific situation by providing an immediate and alternate response. The sense of urgency also limits the range of materials and technological skill available giving opportunity for creative and innovative solutions in an accessible way. Its existence disregards the formality of time because its own permanence is determined by its value, not mere function, and by its specific users, not its general purpose.
